According to a report from xda-developers, Xiaomi is testing three new phones codenamed “Pyxis”, “bamboo_sprout” and “cosmos_sprout”. the “sprout” suffix is generally seen on devices with Android one program, which means that two of these smartphones, “bamboo_sprout” and “cosmos_sprout” could be android one smartphones from Xiaomi.
These 2 Smartphones could possibly be Xiaomi’s Mi A3 and Mi A3 Lite. xda-developers also found that these three smartphones are being tested with “FOD” which is used for the fingerprint on display, which indicates that these smartphones will feature an in-display fingerprint sensor.
The in-display fingerprint sensor on a budget device isn’t a surprise anymore as we have already seen some of the Mid-range smartphones with an in-display fingerprint sensor, like Samsung A50, Oppo K1, and the Vivo V11 Pro.
These in-display fingerprint scanners will most probably be the optical ones as they are more affordable compared to the ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanners that we see on expensive smartphones.
Also, these three smartphones could feature a 32-megapixel front-facing camera with 4-in-1 pixel binding as the company is testing front-facing with 32-megapixel image output.
