Samsung announces ‘Unpacked: Part 2’ event for the Galaxy Z Fold 2

Samsung held the second major “Unpacked” event on August 5 this year. The Korean tech giant took the wraps off 5 new devices in the “Unpacked 2020” event including the Galaxy Z Fold 2 and the Note 20 series. However, it looks like one event wasn’t enough for the company to show us the features of the second-gen foldable smartphone. Samsung has announced the “Unpacked: Part 2” a virtual event scheduled for September 1, 10 a.m. ET.

“Join us on September 1 for Galaxy Z Fold 2: Unpacked Part 2 to explore in-depth the groundbreaking features of the Galaxy Z Fold 2,” says the official blog post.

Galaxy Z Fold 2 Specifications and Features

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 comes with a 7.6-inch QXGA+ (2208 x 1768) flexible Super AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. The cover display of the Galaxy Z Fold 2 is a 6.2 inch AMOLED panel. Under the hood, the foldable smartphone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ chipset paired with 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 onboard storage.


The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 comes with a triple camera setup at the rear that houses a 64-megapixel primary sensor, 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. The Foldable smartphone also comes with a dual 10-megapixel setup at the front for selfies.

The Galaxy Z Fold 2 also packs a 4,500maAh battery which can easily last for a full working day. The smartphone is also said to support 25W fast-charging.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 Pricing and Availability

Just moments after the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 2 in the company’s Unpacked Event on August 5th, Samsung’s own UK website leaked the pricing of the Galaxy Z Fold 2.

First reported by the XDA Developers’ Max Weinbach, the Galaxy Z Foldable 2 will come with a price tag of £1,799. The second-gen Galaxy Z is already up for pre orders will it start shipping form September 17th this year.

As of now, there’s no word on the global availability and pricing of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2.
