Samsung traditionally unveils its New Note Series Flagship in August every year, and a new rumor from its home country says that it won’t change in 2020. According to an online report, the Korean tech giant Samsung is expected to introduce the Flagship Note 20 series as well as the Galaxy Fold 2 to the world in an online event on 5th August. This will be the company’s first-ever online-only unpacked event, on the account of the still ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Samsung is yet to make any official announcements regarding the event.
The Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 is expected to be the successor of the original Samsung Galaxy Fold foldable phone launched last year. The Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 is rumored to come with a bigger external display, ultra-thin glass protection, and S Pen support.
According to a report by a South Korea publication, citing a Samsung Electronics staff member, Samsung is mulling the August 5 date for the launch of Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series and Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 phones.
“Internal discussions are taking place, but the plan to hold the Galaxy Unpacked event on August 5 is being reviewed favorably,” the report says.
Samsung is expected to host its Unpacked event digitally and not going for its traditional physical Unpacked event in New York, due to COVID 19 Pandemic.
Earlier, Samsung in its Q1 2020 earnings report, indicated that the Galaxy Note 20 series and the Galaxy Fold 2 are set to launch in the second half of 2020.
The Galaxy Note 20 is expected to come with a 6.7-inch display, while the Note20+ (or Note20 Ultra) could feature a slightly bigger 6.9″ panel. According to the report, the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 is expected to come with a punch-hole display, which means Samsung is still not ready with the under-display camera designs just yet. Both the upcoming smartphones, Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series and the Galaxy Fold 2 is expected to ship with S-Pens and the latest top of the line chipsets.
The Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 is expected to come with a price tag of around $1,880 to $1895 (roughly ₹1,44,000), and shipping is reported to begin in September. The Fold 2 is expected to ship with a bigger display upfront, better cameras, S Pen, and 5G support.
