Asus ROG Phone 3 has been confirmed to launch in China on 22nd July, for close to a week now. We thought ROG Phone 3 would initially launch in China and then will make its way to the rest of the markets in the coming months. But the company, however, starts sending the press invites, confirming that the ROG Phone 3 will launch in India on the same day. Asus e-commerce partner, Flipkart is also teasing the launch of the ROG Phone 3 on 22nd July.
Asus has already revealed that the ROG Phone 3 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ SoC. The phone is further tipped to come with up to 16GB RAM and will feature a triple camera setup. The Asus ROG Phone 3 will be a successor to the Asus ROG Phone 2 which was unveiled back in July 2019.
The Asus ROG Phone 3 launch event will kick off in India on 22nd July at 8:15 pm IST. People can live stream the launch event on Asus India’s YouTube Channel. Other than its arrival in India, the phone will also debut in the US and European markets.
General Manager of the smartphone business unit at Asus, Bryan Chang made a statement that the full specifications for the ROG Phone 3 would be announced in the coming weeks. However, the ROG Phone 3 was spotted on the Chinese regulatory TEENA’s official website last month, giving us a fair idea of the upcoming ROG Phone 3’s specifications.
Asus ROG Phone 3 Specifications (expected)
As per the TENAA listing, the Asus ROG Phone 3 is expected to feature a 6.9-inch AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 1,080×2,340 pixels. ROG Phone 3 will arrive with a 144Hz refresh rate display – a step up from the 120Hz screen aboard its predecessor.
The ROG Phone 3 Phone will reportedly come in three variants, 8GB of RAM & 128GB of onboard storage, 12GB of RAM & 256GB of onboard storage, and 16GB of RAM & 512GB of onboard storage.
In the camera department, ROG Phone 3 is said to include a 64MP primary sensor, an ultra-wide lens, and possibly, a macro or depth sensor. You will also find the same tiny 13MP sensor on the front as last year.
The ROG Phone 3 is rumored to packs the same 6000mAh battery and will also come with fast charging support. The phone is also expected to come with Android 10, 5G support, and dual USB Type-C ports.
Lastly, the TENAA listing has also tipped that the Asus ROG Phone 3 will measure 171x78x9.85mm and weigh 240 grams.
